Mortgage Term Ending

My mortgage is made up of four different fixed term deals taken out with Britannia BS as I bought/improved my home. The payment comes out as a single payment each month although my annual statement shows me the monthly breakdown of each product.

They were all 10 year fixed deals some repayment and some interest only. The first of these (about £115K interest only) is about to run out in August. Britannia haven't contacted me about it so I assume that portion of the mortgage will revert to their SVR whilst the other fixed terms run their course (about 2-3 years)

Can I seek a deal with a different lender for that portion of the mortgage whilst keeping the other three with Britannia or am I tied to Britannia? In essence can you have mortgages on your home with different lenders?

Any advice appreciated.

Thanks

Kevin

  • I think a call to them direct would give you the answer. I'd hate to advise you incorrectly.
It would be useful to have the 4 rate terms listed, in terms of how long left, how much borrowed, interest rate etc.
You mention that some are interest only, I assume you have some ways of a repayment vehicle to pay these off?

You can't move a sub-account to another lender. You can only remortgage the whole lot to someone else. Ask Britannia about a new product for the sub-account, otherwise, you're right. SVR it is.

  • Thanks for the replies. I wanted to be better informed before I phone Britannia. They have a very limited range for existing borrowers but my buy outs are too much to make a complete move away from them possible. Trapped!!
