credit rating

hi hoping someone can clarify something for me

i have finally gone thro my credit score and i had two debt one paid off in 2004 that i had defaulted once on and my second that will be paid off next month
the 2nd shows that i have defaulted every month as i was paying back an agreed amount every month (done so without fail) and i know they put it as a defualt as it is not the amount set out by T & C but how long do these stay on my file for as i thought it was only a year and 1st was satified 2 years ago
any help would be gratefully received
thanx
If we can put a man on the moon...how come we cant put them all there?

You could always check with the courts when it should have been removed. If it';s been paid it should show as satisfied. I think you have to apply to the compnay for a certificate to prove it's been paid.
This year I'm getting organised once and for all, and going to buy a house with my wonderful other half. And that' s final!

Current Pay Off Target : £1500

a default stays on your file for six years from the date of the default although if you have now paid it off is should show it as satisfied.

if i understand you correctly your second defaulted account is still being paid so it will still show up as defaulted and not yet satisified.

the first will show that there had been a default (very bad for your credit score) and it would show it has now been satisfied (which improves the situation a bit)
but your second default would not show satisified as you are still in default of your contract....but it will show satisfied in due course when you finish your payments.
why do you want more credit?

you may wish to consider that if you have sufficient spare cash to make the repayments on (say) a sofa, then maybe it would be sensible to start saving that spare cash now so you will never again need to use credit to buy predictable everyday items. (except for a mortgage of course). in addition to the interest you will gain by your saving, you will avoid the interest charged on the borrowings.

Sorry if this post is in the wrong area.
Is there any difference bewteen the 30day free trial being offered by the credit agency experian online and the one you pay £2 that they send to you in the post.

    Thank you.

    rasnii,
You should,ve started a new thread or done a search for your answer, but in answer to your question.
There is no difference, you can even print the online one out for free.
You have to sign up with a direct debit though this costs £5.99(?) per month.
I called my bank to cancel about a week later and it hadn't been set up yet, so couldn't cancel it, I then forgot about it until I was charged the £5.99 so please do not do what I did. I think I could've called Experian and they would've cancelled it, but it was at the weekend that I tried and they were closed.
Well life is harsh, hug me don't reject me.
