I used to put all my work expenses on a credit card which I had solely for this purpose. When my work were slow in paying me back I sent them copies of my statements and invoiced them the interest that I was charged for paying late. You could always email them in advance saying you have money problems and can't really afford to wait for your expenses.
If they say they understand then perhaps (nicely) suggest that you take the action above.

Onw way to reduce your coffee intake is to realise that in one month the amount you spend would clear the £50 overdraft, and think of it as part of a debt that you could be clearing. Put the coffee money in a jar eacy day when you use the instant instead and at the end of the month pay it against a debt as an extra payment, it will soon be addictive!Credit card debt - NIL
