I've signed up but this is a pre-register service - I don't think it is going to be up and running until Autumn (which is a vague term!)

It is active now, check your emails for the signup link. They have sent out a link to all pre-registered people

I have no idea what this means. Is it supposed to be humour?

A serious comment with a touch of humour, take it as you want.

In all honesty and for the life of me, if next door had been getting loans in my name, my first and only port of call would be the Police, plain and simple....

He means go to the police and report it.

With regards to Noddle/CallCredit, I have found their service to disappoint so far. A poor signup procedure, lots of website errors whilst trying to sign up, all that hassle just for a free report.

Noddle is a new service that goes live in autumn. A number of people on here were successful in joining up to their small trial in the meantime to check how the service works and if it works etc. That trial is now closed/full.
Debthater have you fed your comments back to them so they can try to make improvements before the full roll out.

It's my address they have used not my name, the police are uninterested as the tenants have said it was a genuine mistake.

I want to see my credit report to see if it has made an impact.

I've not received any email from noddle - I think they have their quota of pre-registered users now.

If they've only used your address then there is no financial link between you, so it won't have any effect whatsoever on your credit report. Plenty of people with no financial relationship share an address.

I suppose it is a bit of a liberty having to pay to see your own information, especially when this is compiled based on consent which is essential to have almost any financial product.

Different people at the same address should have no impact. I have at least one former resident here who's just acquired a default and my report shows no financial associations, so their information isn't linked to me.

We're long past the days where information about other people at the same address should be visible in your report, except if you have a financial association like a joint mortgage or bank account with them. Just living at the same address isn't enough.

Since Noddle will be available soon you could go for one of the trial signups at one of the other places and cancel before paying. Then if necessary use another trial later at another of the three. If you run out of free trials then the £2 statutory reports are the way to go.

That page is writing about collection from those who have accounts already, not directly about the data provided via this service.

For the information provided to this service, like income and time at address, there's no need to leave personal information lying around. Just replace it with 999 and 99,999,999,999 or similar and it won't linger once you've finished using it to check for possible offers.
