Sorry if I sound thick but I am when it comes to Electricals and because it is such a big purchase I want to make sure with the help of you guys that I get the right TV at the right price.
Thanks in advance for any tips

there are loads of pro's and cons for LCD/Plasma and against. Have a search on the forums.
Generally though you will find that plasma's outperform LCD's on larger screens (37" +) however with Plasma's you must ensure you get a decent branded screen and not a no brander. Best brand to go for is Panasonic.
Depending on what you want the screen for depends on what to pick - however best thing to do is actually see the screen you are getting running before buying it - otherwise you could get home with a new LCD to find your blacks smearing across the screen for example.
I have mentioned it on a number of threads but the panasonicth42px60 is a fab plasma for only 900GBP - this screen was nearly 3k earlier this year - only so cheap as it is discontinued as a new model is coming out soon. A tuly great plasma for the money and available from most stores at that price. Don't be tempted by a cheaper screen though if only 100 pound or so in it - as you may regret it in a year or two.Play up Pompey!0 -
Another recommendation for the Panasonic from me tooSame old same old since 20080

Thankyou for all replies have gone for the panasonic that you have recomended.
Purchased from Dixons used a £20 code and a £40 code plus got it on my eggcard to get a further 5% total paid £779 sounds like a good deal to me.0
