I think the ironing is a fab idea :) but dont do yourself down in terms of pricing. At £6-7 an hour I would probably bite your hand off to do my ironing. If its possible check to see what other companies charge locally - and charge a similar market rate. If you have a car maybe offer collection/delivery as part of the service - you could always charge a little extra.

In terms of advertising depending on how local you want the business to be try advertising in the local newsagents but I think most of your business would come from dropping leaflets through letterboxes - maybe with a 10% introductoruy voucher or something as an incentive?? Just a thought.

Although its cash in hand you should also register as self employed and pay over the appropriate taxes/NI as its classed as income.

    Good luck

(Having said all the above I also suggest looking into matched betting which James mentioned above)

It'd be cheaper to just buy new at Matalan, Peacocks or Asda, wouldn't it?

Yes it would, but you'd still have to iron it :)

Steve's obviously one of those who thinks they dont need to iron a new shirt and walks around all day totally oblivious to the fact that he has huge creases running down the back and front of his shirt ;)

Thank you for your suggestions everyone. Sorry I didn't reply sooner, I've been internet-less.

2nd job is a no go as I have small children and no one to look after them but ironing and matched betting might be goers.

    Bring it on!
