i heard that jobs are paying less and you are expected to do more than ever does anyone agree?
The reason alot of people dont hear back when they apply either is that the staff who are answering the applications are also stretched too?

Jobs are paying less, in my industry permanent is down about 5k a year in a lot of instances although some still pay the going rate. Contract wise it's down about £20 an hour and they definately seem to want the person to have more skills to cover other roles.0

In two years our team and our roles were restructured five times - we didn't know whether we were coming or going or who was coming or going! This meant that one minute you were in charge of one set of tasks and the next another. When it comes to recruitment, I'm afraid this also applies and I can honestly say I had to do a lot of clearing up after others who'd either moved on or who had recently changed roles which meant contacting candidates and giving them some closure, sometimes weeks after they'd applied. It was awful but I felt I should give them that.0
