Nice toast for wedding speach

I have the honour of being best man at a wedding, and thankfully the speach seems to be coming on ok.......however I am struggling with the final toast.
From the examples I have found it doesnt need to be specific, but I cant quite find the right one.
Unashamedly I want to make people cry
- women of course, but if I can get the groom to shed a tear that would be great;)
Has anyone got any examples that have been used? I shall give a 'tear factor' for each one!

The best ones i've heard are the ones that are emotional to the best man with some childhood memories thrown in and visuals always give a good laugh. good luck:DStolen the OH's account so it's Jenna - not Neil:D0

Thanks Neil,
I have that base covered, speach going ok, and got some AV for pics etc too - it is just the toast I am struggling with0 -
As in 'if you could all raise your glasses and toast mr and mrs x'????? i'm not sure how you can make people cry with that one?Forty and fabulous, well that's what my cards say....0

How about...
"Those that truly love, have roots that grow towards each other underground,
and when all the pretty blossom have fallen from their branches,
they find that they are one tree and not two.
Raise your glasses to mr & mrs x May your love be modern enough to survive the times, and old fashioned enough to last forever. "0 -
Thats the kind of thing I am looking for, a kind of mini poem when everone is standing!
This is what I have at the minute and I'm not too happy with itHere's to love, laughter
and happily ever after.
As <> and<> start their new life,
Let's toast the new husband and wife!
Any other suggestions?0 -

I like this a lot - I think it has a tear factor of 30 -

PS - The 3 tear factor is only out of 5, so any more suggestions are welcome and could gain extra tears!0

I like the idea of saying something teary/witty etc...but surely the comments that are going to get the best reaction are possibly not the standard thanks or even the generic thanks you find in poems online, but the genuine heartfelt comments you make about the bride and groom or the bridesmaids....could you find something out about them and incorporate that into your toast...
if they've been together a long time using a phrase about having seen love grow....you look forward to seeing it mature....its really difficult to suggest a theme to use unless you know a bit about the couple
My advice would be make it genuine....that always brings a tear....frugal October...£41.82 of £40 food shopping spend for the 2 of us!
