Hi everyone,
I am determined to put a certain amount away each month for debts, Christmas and a wedding fund. My current goal comes out at £429.90 in total every month until December, then £362.40 a month until March.
Please could I have some ideas on boosting my income and excercising self control?
Thanks!

That's quite a lot each month but not impossible, a lot depends on your circumstances, here's a few ideas:
You might be able to make around £100 or so a month from Mystery Shopping, check the thread about it.
You can possibly save £100 or so a month by shopping around for the best utility and insurance deals, use Uswich or a similar site.
Possibly save another £50 or so by budgeting carefully for food etc.
If you've got a mortgage consider switching to a better deal, again shop around for savings.
Go through you bank statements and look at every single debit, see if you can get a better deal or not spend that money at all.
Loads more ideas, others will no doubt make good suggestions too.:A0 -
Try doing avon? I earn around £100 a month - ideal if you work or have young children (sahm). Checkout cash back sites for things you buy too! Drop a brand in the supermarket...would you really mind using smart price toilet roll if it saves you £5 a week? Smart price baby wipes are 36p (pampers on offer are at least £1) i 'save' (1 pack of toilet rolls - £5x4 and 8 packs of baby wipes 64px8) = £25 a month buy just doing that! good luck0

As for the self control...get a tin (sealed ones) from somewhere like b&m (89p) and put cash in their, i did this with my avon money (which i'm using for xmas) and i have no idea how much is in and i cant spend it (i sooooo would if it was accessable), or set a dd up to a seperate account where you need to give 30days notice before you can draw out your money (i think post office does this).0

You should set aside the money. You always need to think of your list of stuffs that you need to buy and you need money for it. Avoid going out for window shopping since you will be tempted to buy unnecessary things. Try to look for part time job or work on line so that it will add to your savings.0

Haggle your internet/phone/tv provider for a new deal?
With your debts, if its on CC's, look around for balance transfer offers.
If its multiple CC's - put them all together in one loan, cuts the interest you gain on them all being seperate.
For a one off or a monthly thing if you have enough stuff (crap in my house it is called) Do a carboot?
I'll try and think of more!0 -
Do you have sky? Cancel it and get a freeview+ box, it's well worth it.
Check around the house for things that can be sold.
Go through all your monthly DDs, and see if there's anything that can be cancelled or downgraded (eg. subscriptions)
Go down a brand on shopping0 -
Try and order online with your shopping. People are so chauffed they save their £3 on shopping with asda, but I find that I save £15+ with shopping with waitrose. If you really need to buy clothes etc, use https://www.myvouchercodes.com So you know you'll be saving something.
