Decent socks for a quid or less.

Options
There are loads of socks in the M&S sale that are going for £1/£2, therefore they would cost me 80p/£1.60 with staff discount.
However, the last time I got socks from M&S they were last years stock and they cost me 1p. Nothing wrong with them, just that they were decatalogued and that is the final price that they reduce them to when they decatalogue things.
An absolute bargain at the time as they were marked as 50p.
They are nice thick socks but I haven't seen similar anywhere at a reasonable price.

Primarks socks are cheap but the queues are just ridiculous so I won't be going there. I get customers all the time at work saying they have had to wait over an hour in a Primark queue as everyone has baskets full of stuff.

Just wondering if anyone had come across any nice socks for a good price.

Thanks for the reply but I haven't got a Matalan near me. That may help others though.:)

How cheap are they out of interest?

Months since I bought them but ISTR they were about £4 for 5 either cotton or wool mix. Excellent quality as you'd expect of Wolsey.

Oh and probably now 50% off in the sale.
  • TKMAXX has good quality one, roughly around a fiver for 3-4 pairs

Thanks for that Cuttlefish. I never even thought of there for socks. It still works out cheaper for me to get them from M&S though. To be fair though, I know that they last ages from M&S and have never had a problem with them. If I ever did then I would take them straight back.

Thanks everyone for the replies. I got a couple of packs from M&S in the end. I got some trainer liners as they have been reduced from £3.50 to 50p for a pack of 3. My staff discount gets them down to 40p so they cost me less than 15p a pair!
Also got a pair of diamond patterned 40 dernier appearance tights reduced from £6 to £2 so they cost me £1.60. Very pleased as I was going to pay up to £4 for a pair.
