Hi I am not sure if I have posted this in the right place or not.
In 2006/7 I ordered a Course from ICS they sent me the course pack however some of the course was missing, I contacted them to say that there were bits missing they said it would be sent out that day a couple weeks went by and still had nothing I phoned them to say that I would not be making the payments until I had recieved the remainder of the course they again said that they would send it out and again i never got anything. I then recieved a letter from a debt company saying that I needed to pay the outstanding some I phoned them and explained the situation to them they again refered me back to ICS I constantly phoned and emailed them but they would just say that a "manager" would have to call me back to sort it out. I then sent the course back and never heard from them or the debt agency again until the other day my wife and I went to get referenced for a house and they said that I had a CCJ from ICS on my credit report! I never received any notification or anything from anyone about this.....is there anything I can do??
Thanks in advance

You might be able to get ther judgement set aside.
What is the date of the CCJ? (if you don't know then you can either check your credit file for £2 or look on the registery trust £8 but can be quicker)
You then need to get a copy of the judgement, which you can get from the court that issued it.
Procedure and info on set aside applications is here - http://www.nationaldebtline.co.uk/england_wales/factsheet.php?page=12_how_to_set_aside_a_judgment_in_the_county_court
If you do manage to get it set aside on the basis that you were unaware of it then its possible that they will try to get the CCJ again, so at that point you would need to prove you didn't owe the debt - do you have any letters or maybe the emails from the time asking for the info or saying you wanted to cancel or wanted to send the course back etc? Do you have proof you sent the course papers back? did you send it back recorded. These are the sorts of things a judge might consider.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0
