Anyone help in choosing a new Kitchen?

Options
Hi, we are looking to buy a new kitchen to fit ourselves and have been looking all over but getting mesmerised by the choice and options. We like the Oak Shaker styles around. What size carcass thickness should we specify, should we get colour matched carcasses? What discounts should we be asking for from places like Howdens, MFI, B&Q, Homebase etc, or should we go to a smaller local outfit? Any advice and experience would really help

Thanks

  • Howdens are good - but you need to be in the trade to buy.
So..... do you know someone who can do you a favour...

If you are not into solid wood - Have a look at screwfix direct to give you an idea of units/ costs etc. https://www.screwfix.com

Very very pleased with the result.
( builder probably did a reasonable markup on the units as well ) - but I'm happy with end result.

if you want a quality kitchen look for solid oak doors, 18mm rigid, not pre assembled, colour coordinated carcase with solid backs, soft close drawers and doors. none of above offer this so check independant specialists. but depends what you want
