Wedding Show Discounts

I am planning on going to a couple of the wedding shows in London this autumn.
I have heard that the suppliers and stalls will often offer discounts if confirmed on the day, does anyone have any idea how much they can be? Is it around 5% or 50?%?
Thanks.

The most i've been offered was 10% off tiaras. Photographers and videographers sometimes offer a reduced package if you book within a set period of time after the show. Videographer i'm looking at offered £100 discount. Hope that helps a bit. x:DStolen the OH's account so it's Jenna - not Neil:D0

Make sure you do your research of normal prices in your area before you go. That way, when someone at the show offers you a "today only deal" you can have a look at your prices and see if its competative with normal prices at home.
Its very easy to get caught up in the thrill of securing a "good deal" only to find out later its not as great as you thought.
I tended to avoid "today only" or "limited time" deals. A good photographer/videographer or whatever shouldnt need to pressure sell to get their business.:jProud mummy to a beautiful baby girl born 22/12/11 :j0 -
I found if you umm and ahh a bit they offered to keep the "today only" offer open for a week so I could go away and research them0

I think there are some genuine discounts. I was looking at rachel simpson shoes and they were 10% off. There are also some weird offers like a plain white card box 'special offer today only £10' which I nearly bought and ended up with exactly the same on ebay for a fiver.
Best have a plan and stick to things you need - check ebay prices out before hand.0 -
I found that the wedding shows were great for ideas, but were quite expensive - and do you really want professional make-up artists topping up everyone's make-up in the loos all night or a barn owl to deliver your rings for you anyway? (Not knocking it - a friend did this and it worked well for her, but not very MSE...)
By all means take their details and quotations and if you like them after you've researched then give them a call. If you phone offering work at a price they were willing to accept a week ago, it is very unlikely that they will turn you down - after all they did the show in order to drum up business!
Most of all it was a great day out for me, my MOH and the MOB. Have fun!
