This is another load of marketing !!!!!!!!. What they mean is "UP TO 14.89% discount on SOME stuff".
It's a bit like Homebase having an "up to 50% off EVERYTHING" sale, when the key words are actually "UP TO...."
I'd also be interested to know how this will be processed - presumably they charge you full price for the item, then refund to you the amount of VAT charged? Otherwise if they just take 17.5% off your price their systems will automatically pay the Exchequer 17.5% of the final selling price. And if they did this then their advertising would be blatantly untrue wouldn't it?

  • As previously mentioned chances are this offer is only valid on a small number of items - it will basically be a ploy to get people in to their stores, otherwise i would expect the offer to be available online too!

They did a similar one earlier this year (possibly Easter-ish?) - as BigLugs said, it's a (up to) 15% off, but looks like a 17.5% off. Last time it was advertised on the site and in the papers as well.

Most of the stuff with the extra 'VAT' off the price brings the items down to the same price they are in Currys...:D

PC World have a big ad (3 pages) in Daily Mail today about this.

From the look of the ad, its everything, although I could be wrong. They have got pcs, laptops, mintors, cameras, printers, keyboards listed.
Too many to list, but if you look at pages 43 to 45 of todays Daily Mail you will see them all.

If any one wants to know anything in particular, post it and I will let you know!
