Hi this is my first post so please be gentle.
story so far......
I have stupidly got into debt when on maternity leave by burying my head in the sand making my debt spiral out of control. I owe a number of companies 13k approx and most have accepted my reduced payments.
I owe capital one £2800 ( £3250 with the added charges) and have been struggling for months trying to come to an agreement with them. I agreed a payment with Capital one over the phone and filled in all their forms and gave copies of my bank statements tax credits etc but heard nothing back for 4 weeks. I then get a letter from capquest who i had never heard of saying i owe them £3250 but no mention of a reference number. I decided to send them the CCA letter to find out if the were legit.
I sent the CCA letter on the 15th July and have recieved it back saying i must sign it. I have wrote my full name on it but am wary of sending it back due hearing about them forging signatures?
Do i have to sign the CCA letter for it to be valid?
Thank you very much in advance

            Hello and welcome,
Best advice is to print your name or use a 'handwritten' font on your computer to sign your name as they have been known to paste your signature onto documents.
I'm sure someone else will be along shortly to offer more advice xxxLife is too short not to love what you do.0

            Thank you for your reply
The letter i sent them had my name typed on the bottom but capquest want me to sign it.0

Don't sign your official signature on any letter Capquest request.
Contact Capital one and ask them if Capquest have bought the debt or are acting as collectors for them.
Then post back here, don't have any further correspondence with Capquest until you have done that.0

I have Spoke to Capital One this morning and they have said CapQuest are "dealing" with the account now. I asked her to clarify and she said Capital one still own the debt.
I am so mad that they have passed this on after months of trying to sort this out with them and charging me over £500 interest and charging whilst doing so!
Apparently they never recieved all the documents i sent them which included bank statements, tax credits awards, pay slips etc!!!! I am fuming!!
So I still want to send the CCA letter as i know i never signed a contract. Maybe then they will then accept my offer of payment!
But what do i do about the signature they are wanting?0

You don't do anything about the signature. They can want all they like, you aren't required to sign anything, nor can they force you to do so.0
