I have 9 x 230 watt Schott solar panels.
This should give me a maximum output of 2070 watt ??
Yesterday just happened to look at the panel on the inverter & it said it was producing 2300 watt.
How come ??

Guess the rating is a nominal value and they can exceed that in ideal conditions. I wouldn't complain ;-)0

If it's been cloudy for a while, or even raining, the panels will be cool, which makes them about 0.5% more efficient for each degreeC below their nominal efficiency at 25C. A sunny break in the clouds will not only provide direct radiation to the panels, but the cloud margins will also provide refracted and reflected light so you can have a short period of time when the irradiation is higher than the 1000W/sqm which the panels are nominally rated at, this is 'cloud edge effect'. It is also likely that the manufacturing tolerance on your particular panels is positive rated thus providing a higher output than the rated performance ....
The combination of the above in some form will be what you saw ....

Plus of course if you live in the South West of England you will get a higher output than anywhere else in UK0
