in Cutting tax
Hi,
I work for a UK company, floated on the US stock market.
I have a US etrade account set up and my share option have for the first time in a decade started to be worth something
If I sell my options, I'll have about USD7000. etrade wil automatically take 20% off and then my company will deduct another 20% from my pay packet... add in the conversion for USD to GBP and $7000 becomes £2600.. better than a slap in the face, but hardly life altering.
Now I can't do anything about the USD to GBP rate, but is there any way of reducing the tax on these options... some of which I have had for 10 years?
Thanks

I seriously doubt you will have to pay TAX on this as it is well below the capital gains allowance.
I dont even think gains this small are required to be declared on your TAX returns.. but dont hold me too it.0
