I'd just like to warn anyone who bought these that when my DD was using them for the first time today the power cable detached from the straighteners body leaving a very dangerous exposed wire.
Please check yours to make sure they are safe, I am gobsmacked as these are aimed at children.MSE- The Glitchhikers guide to the galaxy

:eek::eek:
Please take them to Trading Standards (your County Council). If they are indeed dangerous, they will know what to do and test the other products on the market.
The last thing you want to happen is watch a TV program in the future about someone being hurt.
We took some candles and an oil burner once as the whole thing burst into flames. We we not sure if the candles or burner was at fault. Sadly the shop that sold the items had ceased trading, but Trading Standards said they were faulty and dangerous.I want to be credit card and loan free by Christmas 20100 -
i bought my daughter high school musical straighners with the hair dryer.they wer very rarley used.my own straightners packed in one nite and as i ws in the middle of doing my hair i took the high school musical 1s out 2 use.big mistake! the sraightners come in two parts and need put toggether like a phone charger to a fone.i put thm together and switched them on at the wall...as i did so something blew inside the join of the straightners.this was the part i was holding in my hand and as it came loose it exposed the electricity to my hand.my 1st reaction was that i had got an electric shock,untill i realised it was still happening.i was electrocuting! strong vibrations were running through my body.i then used my free hand to pull them of and throw them away.my skin was al melted and after i attended hospital i was told i had a 3rd degree burn on my hand,i had to see plastic surgeons because they thought i needed a skin graft.which thankfuly i didnt need in the end.these were childrens straightners!!! thank god it happened to me and not my daughter! when i contacted the seller they assured me they had never had any problems before and would refund the money to my account if i sent them the straightners.my solicitor is in the process of sending them for me!0
