My ex is a self employed taxi driver, I know how much he earns weekly, he knows that I know how much he earns and that he has 2 books, one for him and one for his accountant/tax man!!!
CSA ordered him to pay us £5 per week and he cant even bring his sorry fat !!! to pay that.
Oh BTW he earns in excess of £600 per week, cash!!! That means he should be paying more like £80 per week.
And hes just had the cheek to ask for some of DS's toys to take to his new house for DS's new bedroom!!!!!!
So mad!! So bloody mad!! Im furious!! Can you tell im annoyed????

Get onto the taxman and tell him everything you know.0 -
I am sure the csa have people they can instruct to follow him while he's in his cab earning, pretty sure the taxman definately does. Maybe that could be a route.0
-
But before you do that! Threaten ex with it, see if that will make him pay up! But yeah do it anyway.
The thing is, Im not sure he is mature enough to keep the relationship going with his son if I screw up his sorry life!! My DS loves his Daddy (if only he knew)I am sure the csa have people they can instruct to follow him while he's in his cab earning, pretty sure the taxman definately does. Maybe that could be a route.
I have told the CSA about his fraudulant behaviour, they said there is nothing they can do and its a job for the Inland Revenue.0 -
There is plenty you can do!!
I fyou have any evidence, facebook, 192 with his address, proof of he purchase new house with ground registry etc, then send this to CSA and demand Criminal Compliance Team investigate. They can access bank accounts and interview under caution they have lots of powers, but as I believe are as overstretched as every other Dept due to volume of CSA stuff going on and manpower limitations.
Good luck0 -
Does he work for an operator? Get the CSA to request one nights list of jobs (if you can find out his call sign) that will prove how many jobs he is doing wont it?0

It's a tricky one for the CSA, they'll assess him using income from Inland Revenue, and if it's a flat-rate assessment his return must show he's earning under £100 per week. You can dispute the assessment, but the CSA would need you to prove he's earning more.
Ultimately it's HMRC's responsibility to investigate, because they are the ones who have accepted his figures as the truth, it sounds as though he's guilty of tax evasion.0 -
I'm not by any means justifying the £5 per week but he will be able to claim expenses out of that £600 per week (I presume car maintenance and petrol) and then of course he will have a tax liability so his income would more than likely be a fair bit less than £600 per week.
But like I said if he's earning a fair income £5 per week is clearly unfair.0 -

My experience of self-employed taxi drivers is that most take about £500 - £600 per week, then have expenses of approx £200 per week, which would be an assessment of between £45 and £60 per week for one child, with no shared care.0 -

That's what I was thinking. A liability less than what would apply to income of £600 per week but obviously a lot more than £5 per week.
OP - from what I've seen it seems a typical struggle for PWC's where the NRP is self employed. Hope things get sorted for you soon though.
EDIT: Ok I just did some very quick and basic tax calculations and then worked out maintenance liability (for one child on CSA2) and got £49 per week.0
