Extra Income work for anyone with a DSLR Camera

Options
Just a heads up here, as there were some comments in the past by Photographers looking for extra income

If you have a decent camera (must be a DSLR), and can take a decent photo with it, there is a company taking on a freelance basis people to take photos for insurance companies

There is no miniumum time commitment, the jobs are sent out by text and you can either accept or decline them

You can pick the size of area you want to get job notifications from

There are various types of job, but the most common is going out to a policy holders house and taking a few photos of damage to the car.

Job Pay is from £15 to £22 per job depending on how quick they want the photos

Payment is made a month after the job is done by Bank Credit

I have been taking jobs from them for the past 3 months now they seem to be very reliable and the quantity of jobs is steadily growing,

Hope that's of user to someone on here.

It looks like they may be in same building as churchills insurnace

    from that site

We require a minimum level of equipment for photographers, who must have their own vehicle, insured for business use and Professional and Third party liability cover. imageproof photographers will need to submit to a CRB check and carry a current photo identity badge on assignments. There is an initial fee to become a member of the network and you will be provided with a branded photo ID and new joiner kit. Stylish branded quality work wear is also available.

so you need a vehicle that is insured for business which will add costs to you and need to pay a fee. Not quite as nice as it sounds

Sorry for the late reply, just been out on a job for them

Well In answer to what has been posted,

There was a joining fee, but as far as I know and it was when I joined, you dont pay it till you have done some jobs and are happy with the operation (It covers some basic kit and ID they provide)

As for the phone number 0844 is not premium rate its local rate, but they are happy to deal by Skype or mobile if you dont like 0844 numbers

As for business insurance on your car, this is freelance work all freelance people mystery shoppers etc should have business insurance why should this be different?.

As for the equipment - I was VERY Clear you will need a DSLR, and not a happy snappy camera!!!

All I can say is I have done over 100 jobs earning over £1800, and felt it may well suit some of the other keen photographers on here,

But as always use your own judgement and do what you feel best.

    Who are you kidding ?

Its not a local rate number it is a premium rate revenue sharing number. There are in fact no such thing as local rates anymore.;)

5.11p per minute and set-up cost of 12.5p from a BT Line, and a lot dearer from other suppliers and not included in inclusive minutes. Basically a rip off.

£75 for registration - Includes a starter pack of stuff you will need for the job and ID etc. (That was when I joined not 100% sure if its the same now - Could be +/- they did say it was subject to modification once they had an initial base of photographers)

(So covered by about the first 4 jobs you do), although as stated they dont take that till you have done a few jobs and are happy with the system

As for the Phone number thing. Jeez if you dont want to dial an 0844 number use an alternate method to contact them, I always have, used email or mobile numbers they supply once registered. and you dont need to call them to register on the 0844 number so I can't see what all the fuss is around it!

Having worked for a photographer, if somebody books you for a job and is expecting a photographer you don't need any "ID".

There are opinions here about this outfit: http://forum.photographers.co.uk/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=5897

A lot of the work takes place in "Secure Compounds" where vehicles are recovered for Police Forensic investigation, I can assure you that you need the supplied ID to get into those, without it its a lot of hassle and phone calls, and also it would be very unprofessional to turn up at a garage saying I am here to photograph "X"s car on behalf of "X" Insurance company without some form of ID,

And yes I saw that thread (It is a year old!) when I first thought about registering with them, but there seem to be pleny of happy photographers registered with them, (If you look up Service Certainty on Facebook I am sure the photographers on there will answer any questions

Anyway, I will not labour the point any more, I just came here to try and help as in the past I had picked up some good tips from here and as I had made some good money from the imageproof jobs thought it worth sharing the tips, so will not post on the thread anymore.
