COMPETITION RULES
Joystick Junkies & Foot Locker promotion
This Competition is organized by Joystick Junkies (Sports Finance International Ltd) the “Promoter”).
These Competition Rules govern the conduct of the Competition. Your participation means that you accept these Competition Rules. Please read these carefully prior to entering the Competition.
All Competition entries must be received by the Promoter by 31/07/11.Entry is limited to one per person. No purchase is necessary to enter.
1. WHO CAN PARTICIPATE IN THE COMPETITION ?
The Competition is open to residents of the UK, Spain Germany, Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Ireland, , Luxembourg, , and the Netherlands . Employees of the Promoter and of Foot Locker, any of their subsidiaries, agents or any other business involved with the administration of this Competition, as well as their family members are not eligible to participate.
2. HOW WILL THE COMPETITION BE RUN ?
2.1 The Competition will run from 31/5/11 to 31/7/11. To enter the Competition, participants need to go online to https://www.joysticjkjunkies.com/footlocker and follow the instructions, and follow the instructions on the web page.
2.2 Except in the event of negligence, fault or deliberate acts or omissions on the part of the Promoter or its agents, the Promoter does not accept responsibility for any entries lost, damaged, corrupted, delayed, quarantined, or not received by the promoter, whatever the cause; and the promoter is not responsible or liable for any technical, hardware, software, server, website, or other, failures or damage of any kind.
3. THE PRIZE
3.1 The prize consists of a 250GB Xbox 360 console and two free video games. A winner younger than 18 years will receive video games with a rating appropriate to their age
3.2 In the event of non-availability of the prize for any reason, the promoter reserves the right to substitute the prize with a prize of a similar nature. No cash alternative will be available. The prize is not transferable. Any taxes which may be applicable to prizes, shall be the responsibility of the winners.
3.3 Except in the event of negligence, fault or deliberate acts or omissions on the part of the Promoter or its agents, the Promoter does not accept responsibility for any prizes lost, damaged, delayed, or not received by the winner, whatever the cause, and will not replace such prizes
4. THE WINNERS
4.1 . The winner will be drawn at random from all correct entries received by the closing date.
4.2 The winner will be notified by email as soon as practicable following the end of the Competition. Winners need to confirm acceptance of the prize ultimately within 2 weeks after they have been informed about the prize. If no timely acceptance has been received by Promoter, the winners lose their right to claim the prizes, in which case the prizes may be cancelled.
4.3 If a winner rejects the prize, we are very sorry, but no alternatives will be offered. Substitute winners may be selected.
5. PARTICIPANT’S DECLARATION
Winning entrants may be required to participate in advertising or promotional activity for the Promoter, without payment. In addition, the Promoter will have the right, at its absolute discretion and without payment or permission to the winner, to use the winners’ video, pictures, name, region of residence or likeness for the purposes of announcing the winner of the promotion and for related promotional purposes.
You hereby agree that Promoter shall be entitled to use such video, pictures, name, region of residence or likeness and that this information and/or these images may be posted on Promoter’s website or any other Foot Locker operated website, or used in any other media for marketing or other business purposes, without compensation or prior approval by you. Promoter shall have all rights related to such images and their use.
6. PERSONAL DATA
6.1 Your personal data will be used for the purposes of executing the Competition and to send you communications and/or promotions related to the Competition, and, if you have opted in, for sending newsletters and information about promotions and marketing initiatives launched by Joystick Junkies (Sports Finance International Ltd).
6.2 Promoter shall only transfer your personal data to affiliated companies and/or third parties to the extend that this is necessary for the executing of this Competiton or in the event that this is necessary in order to send you newsletters.
6.3 Your personal data will be processed in accordance with the applicable data protection laws and the privacy policy of Joystick Junkies which can be found on this website.
You can exercise your rights of access, correct, cancel or disagree with the personal data by contacting info@joystickjunkies.com, clearly indicating your name, surname, address and e-mail address.
6.4 Moreover, by enterting this competition you consent to the Promoter sharing your personal information with Freedom Sportsline Ltd for the purposes of executing this competition.
By entering the competition, all entrants consent to the processing and use of this data.
7 DISCLAIMERS
7.1 Except in the event of negligence, fault or deliberate acts or omissions on the part of the Promoter or its agents, the Promoter does not accept responsibility for any entries lost, damaged, corrupted, delayed, quarantined, or not received by the Promoter, whatever the cause; and the Promoter is not responsible or liable for any technical, hardware, software, server, website, or other, failures or damage of any kind.
7.2 Promoter reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual it finds to be tampering with the entry process or the operation of the Competition or to be acting in violation of these Competition Rules. Any attempt by any participant to undermine the Competition may be a violation of civil and criminal law, and Promoter reserves the right to seek damages and/or any other remedies allowed by law from such participant.
7.3 In the event of obvious error in these rules, illegality, or circumstances beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter which prevent the administration of the promotion, the Promoter reserves the right to amend these rules or withdraw the promotion. The Promoter will not be liable for any form of loss or disappointment caused by same. In such circumstances the Promoter will make all reasonable endeavours to advise entrants of any changes or withdrawal.
8. MISCELLANEOUS
8.1 The rules of the promotion are available at [https://www.footlocker.eu/Converse, including the entry form Entrants who do not comply with these rules, or who submit entries which are incomplete, incorrect, or fraudulent, will not be eligible to win. By submitting an entry, entrants agree to be bound by these rules.
If any provision or part of these Rules is deemed void or unenforceable, then that provision or part shall be deemed excluded and the remainder of the Rules shall remain applicable.

Hi all, realised we had a sudden massive rush of entries from this site, so first of all thanks GraphicUK for the post :beer:

However with over 12,000 entries, I realised most of them were from automated competition entry sites, meaning the people entering hadn't actually visited our site themselves. Our competition rules state that participants have to visit the website page to take part so we're going to disqualify any entries from competition sites.

So for those of you who genuinely came and checked us out and took the time to enter, you've now got a bigger chance of winning :T

Now another bonus for all you real people...we've got a monthly competition for an Xbox launching in August, this time all you have to do is 'like' our Facebook/joystickjunkies page and every Friday we're picking a winner from all those who 'like' us to get a new video game, and on the last friday of the month we're picking a 'liker' at random to win an Xbox and the game! Easy - no forms to fill in, no emails to give!

Sorry I might be being thick but what is an automated competition entry site? Does this mean if you clicked on the above link you have been disqualified? or does that mean you are ok?

Ah sorry Dont worry if you entered on our website you are okay!

Right there are websites that people sign up to for say a few quid a month that then enter you in every competitition that can be found on the web. They use software to automatically enter everyone on their database. What I see our end as someone running a competition is thousands of entries but the email addresses are usually weird email addresses associated with those websites. Most competition organisers are now disqualifiying entries from these as obviously the entrant hasn't visited the web page for the actual competition and seen the message or sponsors on the page.

No problem! It's just encouraging spam emails and is definitely not in the spirit of running a competition as you'll end up competing against thousands more people to win who probably don't care if they win the competition or not.

No problem, I can see why people join them, but good to know most big competition sites are now disqualifying people who use them. It's unfair on those who actual spend their time to personally enter competitions.
