Had a ccj for capital one that was never paid off, it is on my credit report. Contacted solicitors who took the action who advised back with cap one. Finally got answer from cap one that the debt is now with "post legal at Credit Grantor" but they could not give me a contact tel no or email.
need to clear this debt to get a job, but do not know where to go next to sort this out. Can anybody help as i'm tearing my hair out, want to pay it off, move on and get a job that is in the pipeline but this is preventing me from moving on with job app.:(

Paying off the debt won't result in the removal of the CCJ I'm afraid.
It will remain on your credit file for 6 years, although marked "satisfied".
Sorry OP.

Did you contact cap 1 by phone when they said they couldn't give you an info?
I'd either try calling again and telling them not to be so ridiculous - you want to pay the CCJ that they took out and insist they tell you how or provide you with an address for who you should contact.
If that still doesn't work then write to them state that you want to pay the CCJ and that you require them to tell how they want you to pay or provide you with details on who to make payment to. They cannot possibly not know this information and by not providing you with this info they are being delibrately obstructive and preventing you from paying off your debt.
If they still won't tell you then I would suggest you contact the court and explain what has happened and ask them for advice.
When you pay make sure you get a certificate of satisfaction so that you can get your credit report updated to say iits paid.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0
