car with levy on in bankruptcy

Need to clarify a point on above - i am one of many creditors owed money by this guy(my wifes ex) who in the last week had declared him bc. my wife is owed approx £1500 from their divorce costs from 2 years ago and has been pursuing it through numerous court appearances.a couple of months ago it got to the high court where the sheriffs bailiffs arranged a visit to his property.this took place 3 weeks ago and a levy was put on the car by the bailiffs.a walk in possession order was taken out.now i have just found out he has declared himself bc 1 week ago and now wondering how i stand with things.the car is still there ,not used and according to bailiffs was up for being auctioned to clear my wifes divorce costs etc prior to bc. we spoke to local court who has told us we are a creditor so now not sure where we stand.cars value approx £1000 - can anyone help please.

well just spoke to bailiffs who now say car has no levy on it and as car is not worth a £1000 (after all fees) probably wont be worth persuing. we have been confirmed as creditors but 1 of 5 so i guess we are near the bottom .should get a letter shortly detailing figures etc .our solicitor has warned us we could end up with nothing and the wife"s ex could keep the car (due to low value) even though he doesnt use it for work.
so we end up with a solicitors bill for nothing ??? somethings seriously wrong.0
