Free Driver Training???

Hi All
I'm currently unemployed and I'm desperate to get back to work, in order to make myself attractive to more employers I wanted to know whether or not there is any free driving courses I can do.
I've heard different things about folk on the dole being given driving lessons (car) paid for by the tax payer (yes, it annoys me too, I had to fork out £LOTS to pass my test), I just wondered whether there was training available to teach me to drive something bigger like a lorry or an artic, this way I'd be able to apply for more jobs.
I've already applied to Stagecoach as a trainee bus driver, just waiting to hear back from them but in the meantime I'd like to be pro-actively seeking further training, just in case.
I've asked my Job Centre Adviser, she's no idea! Not a clue about training programmes that'll actually help me get a new job, although she can send me on a course to help me learn how to write a CV... Honestly, no wonder joblessness is so high.

If it wasn't for the mistakes I made in the past (and learned from), I wouldn't be who and where I am today. It doesn't matter if you've cocked up, what matters is that you put it right and apologise. x
