oops sorry ok and you :rotfl:

havent noticed you on the MS thread much :o
  • Hi Chaps & Chapettes,

I've just stumbled across this thread and find it very interesting to see what and how companies carry out 'undercover' surveys.

In my professional world I spend a lot of time away from home in hotels and restaurants, normally as 'Billy No-Mates' which is not much fun, although it's nice to try different foods and wines at the company's expense and compare for future reference.

Is there any way I can use my eating out 'skills' as a mystery shopper - I'm doing it anyway. I'm always suited or casual smart, very punctual and happy to compile paperwork on the same day/night.

How restrictive would this be for me both in time and location?

    Thanks for any advice.

you can pick and choose which assignments you do / dont take on

with TNS for example , you search online and apply for the ones which suit you

most specify a particular date in which to carry out the assignment, and a time too eg anytime between 6 - 9pm

TNS also have hotel assignments too ;):D

LOL you are right I'm seldom there, that's because I'm a lot on dedicated mystery shoppers forums. I should go on that thread more often, I agree. :o

I am an allocator for a company specialising in assessing middle-market to up-market restaurants. We require very high standards of reporting and out of 10 new shoppers, about 2 make our grade. This is because we specialise in restaurants and are more expensive for the clients than other mystery shopping companies, but in turn we provide very extensive report which can take up to an hour an a half to complete.

We usually prefer to employ experienced shoppers because of our strict criteria. A mystery shopping meal may be a freebie in terms of money, but certainly not in terms of time, because as I said our reports take a while to complete properly.

    :)
Hi Qasar, I have been with TNS for several years and am an experienced assessor working on some of the high end assignments. Am I able to express an interest in learning about your company and it's work.

    Regards & Happy New Year/Bob
  • Thanks for this post, I have just applied for TNS and have now completed the gruelling test questionnaire. Hopefully I will get chosen as I too work away quite often and dine alone, which in some places is awkward for a woman on her own. Also I am a single parents and get strange looks if I take my sone out for a meal and there is just the two of us, even though he is very well behaved.
