£1000 Challenge - Toshiba 42WLT66 42" LCD TV

Options
TOSHIBA 42WLT66 42" High Definition Digital LCD TV

My task is to purchase a TOSHIBA 42WLT66 42" High Definition Digital LCD TV, but I only have £1000. I was hoping on using a combination of currys/dixons codes and quidco cashback to get the price to £1000.

The current price is £1,158.00 in Currys online.

I've managed to get the price down to £1,138.00 in Dixons (which includes delivery) - I have not took the quidco discount into account.

I was banking on a percentage discount being available, but I've only found 5% off, which isn't enough.

The fact of the matter is that if I can't get it for £1000, I can't get it all, I just don't have any more cash!

If anyone can work out how I get it for £1000 then I will be very grateful.

Bren

Why not go for the Panny 42" plasma currently £899 at Dixons/Currys/PC World and you can use discount codes on top ?
  • I would prefer to get a 1080i HD TV, as I intend to get a playstation 3 when they come out and would prefer the best HD resolution (I can't afford 1080p!).

Sorry dont know what you are on about :p
  • Depends where you live - there is a small discussion on Grabbit about 37 inch version and Peterborough Stage 2(Freemans) mentioned about having one for £599. Went in few hours ago to have a look and it's 37WLT56 but they do have few of the one you want for £899.
  • I'd say go into the shops and ask. That Dominic Littlewood is always saying there's a bargain to be had if you haggle ;)

Always worked for me....I always find the item I want on display, then ask how much discount for taking the display model....Dixons have given me a 25 percent discount before now:eek:

Most places will not sell a display model unless its end of line as they wont have one to show potential customers.
  • I wouldnt touch a display model, especially if you are planning to spend that amount of money.
I have a 6 year old boy and I just know what he gets up to when I am trying to ask questions in electrical shops. Flicking switches, pulling buttons, turning dials....
