If you successfuly argued a contract of employment is not binding on the minor the company would still be liable to pay them for the work they had already done. That said, most contracts of employment are binding on minors where they are not considered unfair or unduely disadvantage the minor http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Capacity_in_English_law#Contracts_for_employment
Which is what SarEl said - it's not an observed law. I'm pretty sure her 'you won't be paid' comment was tongue in cheek as a response to the jovial 'so I could just walk out' comment.almost doubled the wage I had been on. Then personally saw that I'd switch employee benefits for cash and moved into contracting which obviously is a different league of monies.

KiKi' <-- See that? It's called an apostrophe. It does not mean "hey, look out, here comes an S".0 -
I've always felt underpaid for what I do and have had payrises but they never "cut the mustard" and I do expect to be on slightly less than the others due to their experience, but I feel that that is a huge difference considering we do the same job.
No good just moaning, if you feel you are underpaid you need to ask your employer for a rise. If they think you are worth it they will give it to you.
Quite simple really.0 -
The problem of getting an inflation busting 10% payrise when your pay is very little is that you pay is still very little afterwards.
Do some desktop research on what the market rate is for your role, in your area with your level of experience and go to your employer and ask for your salary to be increase to £X as you feel this is what you'd be worth to another organisation.0
