I've bitten off more than I can chew and I'm fed up.

*sigh*

I'm seriously stressed, knackered and have no idea how I'm going to get done all I need to do in the next 2 weeks, especially since I'm by myself and the eldest and the youngest aren't making things any easier.

I'm sat in the middle of an empty room with half stripped walls and I'm having a cuppa tea and trying hard to not have my 'running away' head on at the moment. :(

Just wanted to moan.

Sorry. All my recent threads seem to be moany. Just ignore me. :o I'm happy enough moaning to myself. :rotfl:

  • Don't worry about that! Hearing other people's moans can put things into perspective for others so you moan away :D
It'll all get under control soon- give it a year or so and you'll be looking back to now and laughing.... promise!
They call me Dr Worm... I'm interested in things; I'm not a real doctor but I am a real worm.

yep, moan all you like, moving is stressful and upsetting. You'll get there - it might well take a lot longer than 2 weeks, but you'll do it - I have faith in you :).

Will the earth stop turning if you don't get it all done in 2 weeks???????

In the next 4 weeks I have a bedroom (14'3 x 14'8) painted, decorated and carpetted, I have 4 windows being replaaced, a teny tiny bedroom and the landing to empty, 2 birthdays to organise, a couple of carpets to wash, 6 hospital appointments (none are mine) beds to build which haven't yet been delivered and then I can sort the baby stuff... if the baby is as early as DS3 it will arrive the 11th August and spend a while in scbu.. not ideal but something I have to take into consideration. Not to mention children at summer camps, days out, and fitting in all the usual daily rubbish...

    Fancy a swap???

I think we all plan to do ten times what 1 person is capable of... chill.. it'll get sorted eventually.

One step at a time and lots of tea. Make a list, tick it off and every time you tick something off reward yourself. Take photos and then later on you can look back and remember it and laugh. When we bought our current house it was awful, took us a long while but we got there and we love looking at the photos- how awful it was and how far we've come. Good luck x

Depending on the age of your kids, why not let them write on the stripped walls with some marker pens? I wouldn't advise it if they're too young (you'll end up with lovely drawings all over the house if you're not careful!) but if they're old enough to understand that it's a one-off because the walls are stripped, then it's fine.

Get them to write their names, ages and what the weather is like, together with some drawings, or whatever. Are you moving in or moving out? If you're in a new place, it's nice to have a record of them now and when you decorate again you'll have a nice surprise when you strip the walls!

Enjoy your cuppa, what would we do without tea? ;)

It's not all about *just* moving. It's about loads more than that.
