Tesco are currently selling the HP Photosmart 1510 All In One Printer for £34.97. Is this a decent printer and worth buying please? Also, does anyone know how much ink cartridges are for it please?

TIA :rudolf:

it doesnt say its compatable with windows xp though there may be drivers available on the hp website.
Ive a old hp apollo printer, its for win98/me but website has xp drivers though not officially supported. Well I tried the drivers but the printer prints blanks, works on older o/s fine though.
    So be careful when buying

Don't spend five pounds to dry clean a shirt. Donate it to the charity shop instead. They'll clean it and put it on a hanger. Next morning buy it back for two pounds.

    HP black cartridge No348 £17.97

    HP colour cartridge No343 £19.64

Couldn't find any remanufactured ones on the ink sites I use but there should be some. Price for remanufactured HP carts is usually £10 to £14.

With the discount I have paid £35.10 and free p&p, you get 5mls of ink to get you started, refills are available on Ebay etc. If you go to the link put on by OP then you can access the specifications. Good luck, I believe that they are a reliable and quiet printer.

The recommended one (£35.10) is better - it takes higher capacity inks which make it cheaper to run. I tried the one at Tesco and took it back.

I have 2 of these printers the 1 at work and one at home, it scans copies etc
For the price it is well worth it, the cartridges last much longer than the HP PSC 1410.

    I would reccomend it

Word of warning about the Tesco one (Photosmart 1510): it's an older (and discontinued) model and I believe it only has USB 1.1. Therefore, data transfer rates will be slow compared to the other recommended one (C3180) which is a newer model and has USB 2.0. If you want to buy an HP, then the C3180 is a better choice.

However, I have been looking to buy an all-in-one printer/scanner/photocopier recently and have not considered HP's because of the relatively high cost of refills. Another point of note is that the two HPs above use a 3-colour ink cartridge rather than separate cartridges for each of the 3 colours so you'll need to replace it even if only one of the three colours are used up.

I haven't managed to find any review which objectively compares the ink consumption of the low-end HPs, Canons, and Epsons, but I have found a few hints that Canons seem to have the lowest running costs and that Epsons have quite high ink consumption. So I'm still undecided...
  • Just picked up one of these HP printers for £34.97 at my local tesco in the sale. They are prices at £89.99 in Amazon. A tidy little bargain me thinks

Good spot - I remember selling one of these for £125 a couple of years back, and that was a bargain price!
    Can I help?
