Hi ladies and gents. Ok its that time of year when we need some new goods in the home and currently I'm after a new washing machine and Digital Cordless Phones for home use.
Washing machine:- I have no idea what to get. Cordless phone:- I really like the BT Calypso 225 - Not sure if they are good though. My question is that as im finding it tough finding reviews of goods like the cordless handsets sooo shoud I sign up for a Which online subscription? as they review and recommend best buys of all household goods (among a forest of other stuff)....
Quoted from their site (https://www.which.co.uk)
10.1.1 Your subscription will automatically continue after your free trial ends, unless we are notified in advance.
10.1.2 If you continue with your subscription after your free trial, the charge is £7.75 a month (including VAT and any other applicable taxes), payable in advance.
Hope some one can help cheers. :T

I read Which magazine in my local library and they also keep years of back copies if I need to look something up so it saves me loads. They also let me photocopy a page or 2 if I need to study something at home.0

I had it for a while, but don't think I ever used it enough.
I think the internet is a great "free" review web site, there are loads of boards to help & ask questions. If you just enter what it is in google & hit search you will come across reviews, this works especially well if you add review after the item. Works great for hols too, hotel name & resort in google, click search & loads of reviews.0 -
Arf - £7.75 is a lot to pay for a monthly mag.
I use to have the Which mag delivered (just for a few months but decided the cost was to high)! Unless you wish to buy what is in the current issue you may find a problem buying items from a back issue as I found out.The washing machine in the mag may not still be stocked in the shop as updated new stock comes in all the time....

You could take advantage of one of their offers and cancel before it ends. You can cancel buy e-mail as well as on the phone. I got on their 3 months for £1 offer and tried a couple of months full price to see if I used it, but I didn't really - so I sent them an e-mail and it was cancelled.0

I had it for a while and whe n they reviewed things that I had expertise in, I found their reviews a bit "shallow" and that their were other factors that I thought they should have considered. I then cancelled.0

Which Online also costs extra, on top of the normal magazine subscription. You can read articles from the magazine online with a normal subscription, but to get the full "Which Online" content you have to pay extra. They've changed their search engine recently and it's a lot harder to find products now.
Also I am not sure about the impartiality of their reviews. I wanted a new MP3 player as a gift for my other half, and they didn't even bother to test some of the most popular and best selling models. I have had a new fridge/freezer and a tumble dryer based on Which recommendations, one broke down after a few months and the other after 18 months, both have had to be replaced because they were unrepairable. I am cancelling my Which subscription now!0 -
Hey ladies gents,
Thanks a lot for the replies really really appreciated. I'm going to take your advice and not get the subscription as its well not worth it as you quite rightly pointed out - If I do however want to read up on a review i would take a visit to my library as again you suggested. Also thanks for letting me know that their reviews are not very helpful. You saved me a lot of time, money and hassle.
Thank you very much and have a very very happy new year0
