JSA when between jobs

I'm currently temping, have been for about a month. I have been offered a permanent job starting August 15.

If I was to let them know I had a new job, and they terminated the contract this week, would I be entitled to JSA or any other benefits between now and the 15th?

I want to resign ASAP, but will obviously give them the opportunity to terminate if it means I can claim.

In theory yes but the paperwork and hassle of signing on might mean you'll be doing this for very little. Why not continue temping until that date as I'm sure you'll get more than way and that'll mean there'll be no gaps on your CV either. The only other thing I can suggest is calling the JC claim line for advice.

I'm taking on more responsilibilty in the temp role - getting trained this week by someone who is up from head office specifically for me. Don't think it would be fair to continue this if I know I'm leaving in a few weeks.

Anyway, I let the know this morning and I finish up here Friday. So looking forward to some off, whether it's 'paid' or 'unpaid'
