Jewellery Travel Insurance

Hi everyone, I am traveling to Madrid & would like to take my Cartier watch with me.

Standard travel insurance policies do not cover items of that value & I live with family friends (long story) so cannot really ask them to add it to their home insurance for me.

Does anyone know who I can insure it with?

Thanks

Your home contents insurance personal possessions cover normally will normally cover it. Alternative there is specialist jewellery which tends to be significantly more expensive but then wouldnt impact your home NCD if you were to need to claim

I don't have home contents insurance as I'm not a home owner & don't live with family, as stated in my first post. Is there no other way I can get it covered?

Contact a broker and effect a policy for specified items. If the item is high value you will be required to provide evidence for the insurers.

Not sure why the fact you aren't a home owner or live with family would mean that you don't have contents in your home that you cant afford to lose.

As I say, there are jewellery insurers that will insure a single item for you world wide but I'd suggest you do look at getting home contents insurance with PP cover as an alternative - certainly with my wifes jewellary it is only a couple of pounds more to insure that world wide, + £7,000 of other items world wide + £50,000 of home contents than it is to insure only her jewellery

I'm 21 & don't really have any other possessions of high value, bar my car.

    Any recommended brokers?
