hmmm bit confussed

i'm wondering if anybody can help me, just being trying to work out the amount i owe and its all going well until i get to money i owe littlewoods and additons.
the thing is i have wrote to the people the debt was taken over by and also the company themselves and all the time i get back sorry the debt has been passed on or not known by us
the last letter i had was written by the companies asking for the money themselves back in 2008, i have run out off ideas on how to pay this debt off
also i had a credit card i think it was with llyods back in 2005 i arranged to pay it off but never did, i have heard nothing from them and i was stupid back then and got rid off all my letters so dont know the account number etc
very confussed with all this and dont know what to do

    Personally, if they are not writing to you asking for money I would concentrate on paying off the debts you do know about.
    You can always start paying if/when you hear from them.

    Or put the money aside for when they do come asking.

    If you haven't heard anything since 2005 then it will probably be statute barred this year anyway....

    If you haven't made a payment to it or even acknowledged it in over 6 years it maybe (or soon to be) statute barred so they won't be able to chase it legally anyway!

    If their last letter was 2008 then that's 3 years gone already!
