I need to buy some sort of suite/sofa for the rental place we're going to be in for a while. As it's only meant as a temporary measure for the time we will be in the rental place, I don't want to be spending loads of money.
Out of all the places that sell cheap stuff ......Argos/Tesco/DFS etc, which is the least out of the evils? Or is the quality all much and such given the low price bracket?

I agree, then you could donate it back again when you leave.
Think of it as renting it for a while
Everyones a winner then.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
Have you tried on Freecycle? There are sofas on my local branch most days of the week. Some days you're the dog..... most days you're the tree!0

Or a local auction house?0

Thanks for the suggestions everyone.
I need to order something urgently, I don't have time to start going round auction houses and the like. I also have the added difficulty in that the doorways to the new rental place are very small, so only certain styles/sizes of suites/sofas will do. We're not allowed to do anything to this place, so taking a window out to get a suite in would be a big no-no.Herman - MP for all!0 -

Got them already. No use for a family to use as main seating for a year though.Herman - MP for all!0 -
Yes, keeping house.
Table and benches already moved though.
We just need a kinda reasonable cheap suite or sofa, a mish mash of seating isn't really what we're after even although it would probably be cheaper.
We will be having more visitors, especially from OH's work and also from family of mine who are quite elderly so bean bags and the like wont really be suitable.Herman - MP for all!0 -
For narrow doorways try ikea klippan, intosofa.co.uk or futon company. Personally have had all 3 & would recommend intosofa's0

Could you make do until nearer Christmas to take advantage of the usual pre-crimbo sales?
Nope. Needed quite urgently. For narrow doorways try ikea klippan, intosofa.co.uk or futon company. Personally have had all 3 & would recommend intosofa's
Was gutted to see Ikea selling vastly reduced leather modular things that would have been perfect. Needless to say, only available to order instore in one area.
Thanks all. Will look at suggestions.Herman - MP for all!0
