Best arch support insoles for running shoes?

I jog a little most days and have done so for years. Recently I have developed severe pain in the arch of my right foot and a more moderate pain in the same area of the left foot. I do not need new trainers, but do have a poor (over pronated) gait. I am looking at the various "arch support" insoles for sale. Thre are loads and some are £30+. Does anyone have any recommendations so that I can narrow it down a bit?

Go to a chiropodist who specialises in orthotics. I had similar problems and got off the shelf inserts etc. Turns out I have complicated problems which have required seven operations which was only spotted when I saw a chiropodist. The chiropodist can diagnose problems and suggest insoles etc or refer you on if there are other problems.

I went to my doc with the same problem, referred onto NHS biomechanic clinic. 6 weeks later proud owner of beautiful hand fitted orthotics which I can get replaced. Why pay more when NHS does offer this?

Agree with the others, you need specialist advice on this not a DIY approach. Even if you get something that feels right now, if it isn't right it could cause problems down the line, especially if you keep running. Whether private or NHS get your feet looked at by a podiatrist or similar.
