Hello all :hello:
I quite fancy having a go at making my own soap and wondered if anyone on here does it.
Is it easy enough to do?
Do I need special equipment?
Is there a book/website that anyone can recommend?
Many thanks

Hi Poorly Scammo
There's a good thread about soap making over on the Old Style Board.
Basically you'll need oils, thermometer(s) and caustic soda. At the moment I am reading The Handmade Soap Book by Melinda Coss which seems to have a lot of information in it. The main thing you need to bear in mind, I guess, is how to handle caustic soda safely!
I love hand-made soap. It's not as drying or harsh on the skin as he shop-bought stuff so am really hoping to have a go at making some soon
