Bill Reduction

Hi there, I'm trying to do a clear out of the monthly bills and see what I can do without, at the minute we have bills for everything, gas, electric, loans, sofa, bed, wardrobes and car on the drip, sky tv, mobile phones, contact lenses, lotto, rates, tv licence and insurance for home, unemployment, 2 dogs and the car!

I'd love to get to the stage where I can pay for as much as possible up front from savings so I'm ahead with everything rather than always trying to catch up with myself! First

I was wondering how ppl have found using meters for their gas and electric and how much does it cost to get the meter installed? (Phoenix & NIE)

Any other ideas on how ppl have reduced their outgoings appreciated!

I have meters and they were the best move I ever made. Phienix and NIr wont charge you for changing. I chose the powershift tarrif on electricity which means I can run the washing machine, tumble dryer and dishwasher during the night at less cost.

Cancel your lottery and just buy one line a week on Saturday.

As for pet insurance I've cancelled mine having paid it for 15 years and not used it. If anything happens to one of the dogs we'll find away to pay.

Have you tried negotiating a better deal on your sky and mobiles?

Next time you are renewing house and car insurance try direct line.com. They've saved me a fortune compared to local companies.

I have easy saver cards for gas and electric. I pay whatever I want in and when the bill arrives I am ahead with money already going towards the next bill.

I was wondering if you already had the card meters installed? Or do I even need a card meter these days?

UPDATE: Just checked online and can get the new meters in for free - thanks!
