Double default by Orange for same account - Help

I would be more than grateful if someone could help me with something on this front.
I have been in touch with a mortgage adviser who has told me with my deposit amount and earnings along with my fiancees that we can afford a mortgage as soon as my default hits 2 years (this default is for £47)

The thing that I don't get is that they have already slapped a default on for that account for £244 on 05/10/2008 but the second (£47) defaulted on 05/04/2010! Can they do this for an account taken out in 2008 and take over 2 years to change it to default? Seems they are trying to tarnish my credit file as long as they can do. Any help will be hugely appreciated.
Oh if it helps one is for FCS and the other is "gone away". Can they just willy nilly lee add these defaults.

You could always ring them up, pay what you owe and ask very very very nicely if they could remove one, if not both defaults from your credit file...

I don't think you can have more thanone default for the same debt - are these definitely exactly the same debt? Query the amounts, see what's going on, but I suggest you pay it...

A default lasts for 6 years from the date you receive it, but I believe a default can then turn into a CCJ if they decide to take you to court, so add on another 6 years of wrecked credit file and say good by to your mortgage...

  • Hi billybear1

Normally if there were two separate entries on your credit file by Orange, these would be for two separate accounts.

If you can let me know your account details, I'd be happy to make some enquiries for you if you'd like? We can't accept private messages on here, but you can send us your details via the "Send a private message" link on the Facebook page listed on our Profile.

    I hope we can help!
