Dry Clean or Machine Wash?

I was really pleased with my lovely pair of trousers from Next that I bought in the sale today (my first in size 10 as well after losing weight!), however I didn't notice that they were dry clean only until I got home.
The fabric is:
49% viscose
39% polyester
10% linen
2% lycra
Is there any reason why these trousers can't be washed in a gentle machine cycle? I can't really be doing with dry cleaning as I like to wash my clothes after one wear.
Grateful for any help.

Not everything that says dry clean ,needs to be, sometimes manufacturers put it on to protect people who cant wash on the correct cycle, or over spin an item. In this instance though i think the reason they are not washble is because of the viscose, which is basically wood pulp . If it has been preshrunk it will be ok, but if it has not you could be in trouble. The linnen may be a problem, it depends what you paid and how often you where them, it will probably cost about £5 to dry clean. if you only paid £10 it might be worth a gamble, i would place a small amount of water eg an egg cupfull on a hidden area and let it dry and see if it shrivels or seems to pull tight, if it does it will shrink in washing.
