Help ended contract owed money

My OH was taken on by a company that said he would do a 3 month probation this was 19th March. All well in until 29th June when his manager said they were going to extend his probation for a further 3 months, next day area manger ended the contract.

Telephoned ACAS who said as the company had already extended the probation (they should have spoken to him by 14th July) and as he was not allowed to complete his 1 weeks notice the company owes him a weeks pay.

Got to write a letter but dont know really what to say or how to put it any help please

Presumably he's had his payslip that you believe the money should have been in and it wasnt?

Did they give grounds for the termination of his contract? Was there a reason given why he didn't have to work his notice? Was there an argument, toys thrown out of prams on both sides and potentially an agreement that notice wouldn't apply?

It is a simple letter to write, depending on if he was paid weekly or monthly you will need to adjust it, but if it is monthly then simply say you have had the last payslip and noticed that the payment in lieu of notice was missing or if it is weekly simply that the final weeks payslip and pay for lieu of notice doesnt appear to have been processed.

If his contract was ended on 30th June has he had his final pay yet? if he's paid monthly then the weeks wage will come on the usual pay roll date
