So am I actually an employee? What rights do I have?

I started doing temp work 2 weeks ago through an agency. It was all very quick - I applied for a job through Reed.co.uk in the morning and that afternoon had a job offer for starting the following day which I accepted.
They sent me over some documents and said I needed to complete them before I could be paid. One was a form that gave them my contact details and bank details and the other was just a P46. Ive not signed anything etc with either the agency nor the employer Im working for so Im wondering where I actually stand.
Am I actually an employee of the agency? If so then what employment rights do I actually have - surely I must therefore be entitled to holiday etc?
Apart from receiving my payslip and my money Ive heard nothing else from the agency since so Ive no idea really whats happening....

You are an employee of the agency and not the company.
I temped with Reed 3 years ago and accrued holiday from the moment I started working for them. It basically worked out at 10% of the weekly hours worked - I worked 35 hours per week so accrued roughly 3.5 hours holiday per week up to a maximum of 24 days per year but you don't get paid bank holidays.
Double check things with Reed in the morning - their temp consultant should explain everything to you.Debt 30k in 2008.:o Cleared all my debt in 2013 and loving being debt free
Mortgage free since 2014

Yes, you are an employee of the agency and you should speak to the key contact you have there.0

Reed should give you a handbook with all the info in there for you.
If you have questions just ask the contact at Reed, they won't mind and you can just say that you havn't temped before so don't know how it works.
Also worth checking with them, as sometimes if you are ill and can't work, you have to phone the agency not the company where you work.0
