Motoring offence question

Currently filling in an application form which needs details of any motoring offences -I assume this includes any points taken off for speeding?
thanks

Points taken off? Points are added for an offence so I'm unclear what you mean.

If you committed an offence and the penalty was to receive points on your license then, yes, you need to declare it.

Not necessarily. I have an acquaintance who counts her speeding offences as "points taken off" too. So when she gets dangerously close to the limit she has to drive more carefully until something expires and she can speed again. or at least that is the way she thinks it works, and explanations to the contrary have never sunk in!

Oh, yes, sorry-points put on! (I think it is the odd logic of getting points for something that I shouldn't have done confused me)

If you have been fined and / or received points for a speeding offence and the form has asked about motoring offences then, yes, this should be declared.

The answer to the question seems obvious... what leads you to think that it isn't that cut and dry?
