I wanna buy a a freeview box with a topup card slot

Can anybody suggest the best or cheapest place to get one as they are much harder to find that ones without, its for my dad.
Also due to their scarcity are they become obsolete?

Have you tried Freecycle, I ask as I have just replaced our OnDigital box due to the size and will put the old one on Freecycle as I've seen them on there before.

ebay? a word of warning tho top tv is changing in jan so check their site mite need a new reciever for their new features (a bit like sky plus)

Yes Top-Up TV boxes are becoming obsolete. At least the slots for the cards are; they will still work as ordinary Freeview boxes. See https://www.topuptv.co.uk for details of their new service and boxes (and consider whether satellite or cable might be a better option).

Freeview receivers with slots are not becoming obsolete.

Setanta will shortly be launching on Digital Terrestrial Television, and will require a receiver with a slot to subscribe.

Sainsburys are currently selling a Setanta branded Goodmans GDB7CA at half price for £27.49 (normally £54.99)

Also before Christmas Tescos were selling Astratec TOPD2 receivers for £24.97
