I'm going there for a reunion mid September & have been looking at the cheapest way to travel. So far flying from Belfast International seems the cheapest at £55 (inc tax & charges) booked online.
I'm looking to travel on the Friday & return Sunday.
Ferry & then hire car is expensive as is train but I can't find any info on the web for going by coach.
Can anyone help?

TAI,

Spike

The coach option used to be via Ulsterbus at Glengall St (probably still is).

I very much doubt if it would work out any cheaper to go via coach and it will take you about 8 hours to get there.

One thing to factor in is that Blackpool airport will charge you £10 (some sort of development fee) on your return journey. Unfortunately it is compulsory.

Don't know how you are for accommodation but there are a couple of Travelodges and you may manage to grab one in the £10 sale.

Cheers, that's what I thought.I've already got the B&B sorted,am looking at driving to Aldergrove & putting the car in the long stay,if I book it online it's £21 for the duration, only a couple quid more than using the bus from the Dee.

Flight sounds best option, the air-port is a mile of so out of town, cheap taxi in.

I am going over in two weeks today and am flying to Liverpool. Flight was 19 quid. You could then get a bus into the city centre for £1-80, or slightly more, depending on which bus you happen to get. You could then get a train from there to Blackpool for £15. That could be an option for you. I am doing a similar journey myself, but via Preston. I am travelling back from Blackpool airport, though. HTH. :)

If you find a way of not paying the £10 please let me know. My folks are there twice a year and have been paying this for about the past 5 years. There doesn't appear to be anyway round it. Total rip off.
