Panicking! Job seekers allowance advice please?

I'm on JSA and i've had the same signing on card for a 8 months now since i started claiming my benefits and i've always kept it safe. Last week i was rushing as i had to sign on literally 20 minutes before an interview, my signing on card (booklet with my NI number and signing on times) and, well i've basically lost it somehow and i think i must of dropped it somewhere. I'm really panicking as i like to be organised and i have no idea what to do. I am due to sign on Tuesday, will they turn me away/stop my benefits? I've got very bad anxiety issues and to be honest it is stressing me out, i've tried ringing but they never awnser the phone! Any advice appreciated x

just go in as normal and tell them, you won't be the first

make sure you take a full list of what you have done to look for work though

    Don't panic.

I've just took a look through mine to see if there are any clauses about mislaid signing on booklets. The only thing I can find is

"Please bring this booklet with you every time you come to see us. Failure to do so will lead to a delay while an advisor confirms your details."

There's no mention of a penalty for not having it. They're more concerned about you missing an appointment entirely or not informing them of any changes to your circumstances.

If I were you, I'd go ten minutes earlier with whatever ID you used when you originally signed on so they can see you're the same person. It won't take an advisor more than two minutes to fill in a new book for you.

I doubt it, as long as you bring evidence of your job seeking. If you've lost both booklets them just write everything down on a piece of paper, and bring cutouts from newspapers if you've applied for any jobs from one.

I imagine your attitude will make a big difference. You're clearly upset, whereas they probably have to deal with snotty teenagers who just want money for doing nothing.

    And you're welcome :)

your advisor will give you a new one. All they care about is you signing on the line and getting out of these face. Just remember that. Its a payment centre not a job centre.
