Need a long pole

Options
I need a curtain pole for a window which is 412cm wide. Ideally it would be brushed steel, but at the moment will consider anything as the longest I can find is 360cm.

Please help, am sick of flashing to the neighbours. :p

i had the same problem as my window is really wide.... what i did was buy 2 shorter ones and joined them in the middle, the join being hidden by one of the support brackets

We joined ours in the middle too, and it worked quite well.

If you are determined to find a longer one I'd suggest you try phoning some of the industrial metal suppliers, rather than relying on retail outlets. We contacted a local sheet metal company when we wanted a much longer than normal bath panel a couple of years back and they were really helpful. They didn't even charge us too much.

On they other hand, stop being such a spoilsport - I'm sure the neighbours are having a whale of a time!

I thought about this, but two shorter ones would not make the distance. I would need 2 x 2m-ish, but the longest they come is 1.8m, after that they are joined anyway. I am not sure I could have 3 or 4 joins as the curtains would get stuck on the brackets (wouldn't they?)

You could only have a bracket where the curtains meet. You could buy 2 pairs of narrow curtains, that way you would get away with 3 joins. It's a bit old fashioned having it that way but it would get round your problem.

Thanks jennyjelly, but 2 pairs of narrow curtains wouldn't work. It is a large very modern window/door (which opens up fully).
