Baby Monitor with sensor pad

Hey everyone,

I am looking for a good baby monitor with sensor pad to sense the movements. I have the smallest budget of basically nothing but I do not want to buy a cheap one and find it is no good! Does anyone know of a reasonably priced one that has been effective?

Thanks!

  • I bought one from Asda I think it was about £40 but got rid of it very quickly because they make you paranoid as they do go off quite easily! A friend had a more expensive one but she said the same.

I have the angelcare one, its fantastic! My Son is 18mths now and we still use it every night.
My OH lost a Baby Brother to cot death and along with me being paranoid I had to get one of these for our Baby. It was especially good as LO slept through the night form 6 days old and theres no way I would have been able to sleep myself without the monitor! Then when hes been ill its been a reassurance too. We have had only about 4 false alarms in 18mths..these have all been after 12mths and were because he would now move around the cot the sensor would not pick him up so we have had the first beep a couple of times and then hes moved and its picked him up and then on 2 occasions it got to the actual alarm going off but he was fine and snuggled in a corner. We have since adjusted the sensitivity and all has been good.
I plan to use it until he goes into a bed and will certainly be using it for any future Babies..we paid about £70 for ours almost 2 years ago and has been worth every penny. If I put it on ebay tomorrow I could get about £35 for it which would make it even better..as it is I will keep it though for further Babies. I really do recommend it though.

    vibrate
    body temperature of baby
    room temoerature
    heart beat
    vaccination reminder
    feeding,napping alarm
    SIDS prevention
    web based chat
SD card to record the video
    Others ....

  • Hi!

I also have the Angelcare sensor for my little boy and think its fab! I was a bit dubious at the start and couldnt really understand why my partner wanted to get it when it cost quite a bit more than all the other monitors but I can honestly say it was our best baby buy. You can use it as a standard monitor, check the temperature in babys room is within the recommended limits and also have the reassurance of the sensor mat. My son is only 6 months old but I think we will carry on using it for a while yet, def worth spending that bit extra on.
