It's a list of scanners in tesco that you can use to price check your items before you buy them, seperate to the self service checkouts.

Wisbech: none at present. The scanners in the clothing section and the pet food section have been removed.

I'm guessing it means the store has self scan tills that you could price check an item at if your store doesn't have a proper price checker and you want to avoid SAs. I think the original list of stores & scanners dates back to R&R days when self scan tills were much rarer.

Around certain Tesco Stores there are computer type scanners.
A stand alone scanner, seperate from the tills,for customers to use, it's for you to check prices of items before you buy them.
This thread lets you know where they are in the store so you can check the prices of things yourself hth

Thanks for the replies. So SELF SCAN indicates some sort of scanner attached to a wall where you scan items but these are not the self scan tills where you can actually pay for your items. I think she's got it! By Jove she's got it!!
