SAR's

Hi all,

This isn't about debt, but I know you lot are the expert on paperwork stuff!

I'm applying to go to uni and they need to see proof of my A level and GCSE results. After 14 years I've no idea where they are. If I do a SAR to the exam boards will they include proof? Or is it too late? I'm not sure how long places have to keep info for. It'll be cheaper than paying for new certs, plus I don't know which exam boards were used for each subject. I emailed my old school but haven't had a reply. So sending three SAR's seems the cheapest and easiest option.
Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.

    Hiya,

I needed proof of GCSE results years ago, about 8 years after I sat the exams as I didn't have the certificates so i went in to my high school and explained the situation. They must have been able to check on record somewhere as they wrote a letter on official letter headed paper which the headmaster signed to say what my grades were and that worked. You could try going in and speaking to someone about it, obv if you are still living in the same area.

(This was for a job application, rather than Uni, btw)

Thanks Linz, I'm not in the same area but I'm spending a lot of time back there ATM. If the school and the Sixth form college both do that it'll be brilliant.

I hadn't even thought of asking them that!
