I will be gutted if this stops me as i ended up with the debts due to my young daughter and ex-boyfriend i helped out thinking i could pay everything off but due to current climate this hasnt happened and i got worried which is why i contacted the cccs to get some advice and help,,0

Just be 100% honest on the forms, as if you aren't and they find out anything it will go against you.:beer:0

I failed a security check for a police force due to having a CCJ. I think bankrupts have the same problems. AFAIK if you hae debts that have not reached that state you might be ok....0

I've been on a debt management plan for nearly 5 years, slowly paying off over £85k of debt. About 2 years ago I applied for security clearance at the SC level and succesfully passed the vetting process.
You have to be completely honest. Its not the fact that you're in debt that will concern them. They'll try to understand if someone could use this information against you (blackmail) to have you divulge information you shouldn't. If you've been honest and open about your debt you can't be blackmailed...
If you're 100% open and honest during the security check the worst that will happen is they might request more details about the situation but you should still pass.
Good luck!0
